Bockor (Jacobins), Kriek (Belgium) This is a Lambic fruit beer brewed by Bockor under the Jacobins label. It pours a very deep red colour with a thin, off-white head. The nose has quite dark, smoky notes, but is mostly sweet cherry fruit, that is a little bit confected: more like cherry sweets than cherries. On the palate this creamy, full beer has a flood of sweet cherry fruit that layers thickly across the tongue. A hint of lemony sourness shows through, and a little bit of dark, smooth chocolate. This is a sweet and fairly one-dimensional style of Kriek, but is very pleasant. 5.5% ABV, 25cl, 1.09, Beersofeurope, Peckhams. | |
