Namibia Breweries, Windhoek Lager (Namibia) Windhoek is a Namibian lager brewed in accordance with German Purity Laws, and it is one of the most popular beers in the bars and restaurants of South Africa. It is also superior to Castle and Black Label, the locally-brewed brands. It has a medium yellow/gold colour and thick white head. The nose has floral and citrussy notes, as well as a sweetcorn quality. On the palate it is fresh and crisp, with a medium body, and plenty of orange amd lemon fruit before a herb and hop-infused finish. Thirst quenching and well made lager. 4.0% ABV, 34cl, 1.49, Beersofeurope, Onlyfinebeer, Surf4beer.
Namibia Breweries, Windhoek Light (Namibia) Purchased in South Africa, this is the low-cal, low alcohol version of one Africa's favourite beers. It pours a very similar golden colour to the regular Windhoek with a moderate white head. The nose is grassy and less vibrant than the regular beer, but is crisp and clean. On the palate the beer is a big let down; it is almost tasteless and very watery, with a slightly tinny quality and just a glimpse of hops and orangy flavour. 2.4% ABV, 34cl, 70 Rand.
